A ground-floor rear and side extension to a Victorian mid-terrace house in a Conservation Area, delivered in collaboration with Amos Goldreich Architecture. The design, created for clients including one keen gardener, arranges a sequence of living spaces around the garden and an internal courtyard, ensuring a constant connection to greenery on this tight urban site. Oak-clad beams spanning the breadth of the kitchen and dining area establish a rhythm that draws the eye out towards the garden, which is accessed through thin-framed sliding glass doors. A projecting window seat hovers over a small pond, allowing moments of quiet reflection and a close engagement with the garden.
